There are a number of beautiful sandy beaches nearby and plenty of leisure activities on offer from golf to water sports. The villa has a light and spacious living room with a dining area and French windows to the pool terrace. A sofa and chairs are arranged around a coffee table in front of the television which has some satellite channels and a DVD player. There is also a traditional fireplace in the corner of the sitting area.

Villa features

Opening off the dining area, the kitchen is stylish and well-equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine as well as an electric oven, ceramic hob and fridge/freezer.

There are five bedrooms on the ground floor, two of these having double beds and en suite showers. Three twin bedrooms share the use of two separate full bathrooms. The bedrooms are all decorated in a simple, uncluttered style with white wall, tiled floors and pretty linens.

Outside

The villa has an attractive garden with a lawn around the pool, bordered by mature hedging. A particular feature of the property is the 16m x 4m swimming pool, which has a palm tree at its centre, a shallow children’s section and both integral steps and a ladder. The pool is surrounded by a sun terrace equipped with sun-loungers, and there is a built-in barbecue for al fresco meals. Running the length of the villa is a lovely covered terrace with patio dining furniture and French doors.

Location

Villa Sobreiro is situated 4km from Carvoeiro, within easy reach of the restaurants at Quinta Rosal and just a short drive from the beach. The rugged coastline of this region is characterized by sandy beaches nestled at the foot of steep cliffs – you will be spoilt for choice with so many beaches to visit, with popular local beaches including Marinha, Carvoeiro town beach and Centianes. Algar Seco, to the east of Carvoeiro is best reached by boat and has striking natural rock formations and grottoes. The clear blue waters are popular with snorkellers but you can also try windsurfing, sailing and water ski-ing. The nearest Golf course is at Vale de Milho with a choice of excellent courses in the surrounding area including nearby Pestana Golf. Tennis courts are available to hire locally.

Carvoeiro is a charming coastal resort around 6km from Lagoa and has a dramatic coastline with white houses perched on the clifttops and fishing boats lining the beach. You can still watch the local fishermen landing their catches at the harbour. The old part of town has cobbled streets where you can sip coffee at one of the pavement cafes and you will also find a variety of market stalls selling handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs in high season.

Children will enjoy a day at a water park, the nearest one being Slide and Splash just outside Lagoa about 6km away. Lagao is also somewhere to visit for a historical daytrip, being a 16th century town which has grown up around its main church. Here you will find a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants nestled among pretty white washed houses.

For a wider selection of shopping, take a drive to the recently opened Algarve Shopping centre near Guia, which has a wide range of stores including well known international brands such as Zara and The Bodyshop. Here you will also find a hypermarket, a bowling alley and a cinema complex which shows films in English with subtitles.
